Nahan Training Center Opens

SAINT CLOUD, MN – July 17, 2019 – Nahan Printing hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony to officially open their new training center. The training center was made possible with a grant the company was awarded from St. Cloud State University and the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development. Nahan is also partnering with St. Cloud State University and Saint Cloud Technical & Community College to deliver the training for the employees.

The training center will offer the following types of training for employees:

  • Leadership Training
  • Production Training
  • Math & Measurement Training
  • Mechanical Aptitude Training
  • Hands-on Equipment Training
  • Skills Training

The ribbon cutting ceremony included presentations from Mike Nahan, CEO; Julie Nowacki, Director of HR; and Curt Tillotson, COO. Tammy Anhalt-Warner, Director – Welcome Center and Workforce Center from St. Cloud State University was also present for the event.

Nahan Printing also revealed the name for their new training center at the ceremony. Prior to the ribbon cutting ceremony, Nahan had an internal contest for their employees to submit name ideas for their new training center. After reviewing the 73 entries from employees, the owners selected “Nahan University,” submitted by Lisa MacDonald, Account Manager.

Nahan Shines at PIM Star Awards

SAINT CLOUD, MN – May 6, 2019 – Nahan was honored to attend the Annual PIM Star Awards in Minneapolis, MN on Thursday, April 26. This event celebrates the Midwest’s leaders in print.

During the awards ceremony, Nahan was honored to receive two Awards of Recognition for Print Excellence in the following categories: Variable-Data Digital Printing and Digital Printing – Brochures & Booklets. Nahan also received recognition for the categories of Product Catalogs, Booklets, and Promotional Campaigns.

In addition to receiving Awards of Recognition for their printed pieces, five of Nahan’s team members were recognized as Nahan’s nominees for the Customer Service and Production Professional of the Year Award. Nahan’s nominees were: Amanda T., Lori S., Ernie K., Jenny C., and Samantha M. Nahan was proud to nominate these individuals based on the following criteria that was given as testimony of their work:

  • Going above and beyond in daily work
  • Being proactive on new opportunities in the workplace
  • Empowering and encouraging other employees to grow

Nahan Awarded $300,000 Training Grant

SAINT CLOUD, MN – April 29, 2019 – Nahan Printing has won a $300,000 training grant from Saint Cloud State University (SCSU) and the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED). The grant enhances Nahan’s workforce through custom training and helps the award-winning printer maintain a competitive edge in their industry.

A signing ceremony took place on April 22, 2019 at the SCSU Welcome Center to celebrate the event.

Nahan is partnering with SCSU, Saint Cloud Technical & Community College (SCTCC), and Ridgewater Community College to deliver the training. The partnership opens the door to cutting-edge skills and knowledge for current and future Nahan employees. The company expects to add 58 new employees to meet customer demand and to achieve a 20 percent growth goal over the next two years.

The training grant has these three goals:

Catalog Work Wins Gold

SAINT CLOUD, MN – November 16, 2018 – Sappi North America has announced that Nahan has won a gold and a silver award in the catalog division in its annual Printer of the Year competition honoring the best printing work in the industry.

Making the Cut

This year’s Sappi winners were selected from over 1,500 entries within 10 different categories. The categories ranged from digital printing and catalogs to brochures and direct mail. Winning pieces were chosen based on overall impact of the piece, degree of difficulty in printing techniques, and technical excellence.

Nahan wins big at Star of Excellence Awards

SAINT CLOUD, MN – April 27, 2018 – The Star of Excellence Awards recognizes those responsible for the creation and production of print communications in the Midwest. The competition promotes excellence in print communications and rewards companies and individuals who produce the best in printed media. The five-state printing competition is hosted by Printing Industry Midwest (PIM), the region’s trade association for the printing, communication and graphic arts industry.

Nahan was presented with six awards for outstanding achievement at the annual 2018 PIM Star of Excellence Awards Banquet. Competing against entries from printing and graphic arts firms throughout the Midwest, Nahan received six awards for their winning submissions:

Nahan Completes PCI DSS QSA Validation

SAINT CLOUD, MN – March 14, 2018 – FRSecure, an independent third party security auditor, has found Nahan to be compliant for the third year in a row as a Level 1 Service Provider, according to the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS).

According to PCI Data Security Standards, the following are required for those accepting or processing credit card data:

  • Build and Maintain a Secure Network
  • Protect Cardholder Data
  • Maintain a Vulnerability Management Program
  • Implement Strong Access Control Measures
  • Regularly Monitor and Test Networks
  • Maintain an Information Security Policy

The certifications are in place to ensure adherence to these standards. What does this mean to Nahan customers? We are held to one of the highest standards in the industry to ensure the protection of data. Our current validation certificate goes through February of 2019.

Nahan Invests in Advanced Equipment

  • In May of this year, Nahan added a Muller Martini Tempo 22 saddle stitcher with 10 feeders equipped with inkjet, demographic binding.
  • In June, they are adding a Muller Martini Bravo saddle stitcher with 6 feeders that complements the stitched products that are beyond the range of the Tempo 22. These two additions add to Nahan’s already impressive and diverse line of finishing equipment.
  • In July, they will be increasing their inserting capacity with the addition of 2 high speed inserters equipped with read and print capability to meet their customer’s growing needs for this service.
